The Great American Song Contest is a highly respected annual songwriting event that features prestigious awards. There are $10,000 in prizes and 45 winners in 9 different categories, including $1,000 cash going to the Grand Prize winner.

Judges in the 10th Annual Great American Song Contest include prominent music publishers, producers, recording artists and Grammy-nominated songwriters. All entrants have the option to receive written evaluations of their songs from the contest judges.

Some of the many prominent judges include: Pat Pattison (songs recorded by Kathy Mattea, Emmy Lou Harris, Alison Krauss), Pete Anderson (Grammy winner, songs recorded by Dwight Yoakam, Sheryl Crow, Roy Orbison), Tim Coons (producer of the Backstreet Boys, worked with Matchbox 20, NSYNC), Pamela Phillips-Oland (songs recorded by Whitney Houston, Brian Adams, Rebe McEntire), and many more. Located on the Lower East Side of New York City, for the last two years, the Annex has already hosted shows by Elephant, Ash, Radio 4, The Hold Steady, Silversun Pickups, Tokyo Police Club (CAN), Meligrove Band (CAN), Cold War Kids, The Secret Machines, Elvis Perkins, Cobra Starship, The Horrors (UK) and We Are Scientists, to name only a few. The Annex has also become one of the most sought-after "after party" venues in the city for bands such as The Arctic Monkeys, Dirty Pretty Things, Brand New, Bloc Party and others. The Annex had won several Best of New York Awards as the "Best Rock Club" in NYC.

With two floors, The Annex holds over 400 people and the live music venue on the main floor has a mezzanine overlooking the stage and a capacity of 250. The Annex is looking to book local and touring artists in a variety of genres, but especially rock-based genres, for 30-40 minute sets at the venue. It is important that bands have a local draw, but it's not necessary for them to be considered for booking and the most important factor is the quality of their music.

Artists will be booked 1 or 2 months in advance for shows and artists will be compensated based on draw, room costs, and other factors. Compensation details will be determined at the time of booking. The Annex provides some equipment and specifics can be found at the Annex website.

Located in Atlanta, GA, open seven nights a week, and serving a diverse group of patrons, Apache Caf offers an intimate caf, gallery, and venue with exposed brick walls and a loft-like style. As a gallery, you can view artwork from a wide range of local and visiting traveling artists. As a venue, you will find presentations on the Asian rosewood stage of everything from think-tank type discussion forums to world-class music ensembles. It is hard to describe what you will find at Apache Caf just as it is hard to describe all the parts that make up the interests of the owners or the patrons.

They are currently seeking musical acts of various genres for showcases throughout the month, including live jazz, funk, hip-hop, soul, world, avant-garde, electro, alternative, Latin, reggae, spoken word, performance art, visual art, photography, film, and more.

Shows at Apache Caf are open to ages 18+ and 21+ and generally range from $10-$15 in ticket price. Capacity is 300 for standing room only, or mixed use 100 seated and 100 standing room. This venue offers a stage that is approximately 180 square feet and a covered patio VIP area for artists with private bathroom to use as a dressing room. Full PA and lighting provided, and recording from the board is possible upon negotiation.

This caf/gallery/venue has been recognized, reviewed, and awarded locally, nationally, and internationally as a place of unique standing.

The Onstage Series shows bring fans physically closer to the music. In November of 2001, Origivation Magazine made its debut at record stores and music venues all over the greater Philadelphia area. For five years, Origivation's founder, Anthony Caroto, devoted himself to producing a highly circulated, highly discussed monthly music magazine; the last bastion of independent, original music in a city overrun by cover bands.

Learning as he went, Caroto published 50 issues between 2001 and 2006, never missing a deadline and featuring a different local artist on every cover. In the Fall of 2006, Caroto decided he had taken the magazine as far as he could, and made the decision to move to Arizona and start a new magazine, carrying his mission of original music preservation to the Phoenix scene.

Philadelphia entrepreneur Brian Cronin took over as publisher of Origivation Magazine and promoted Caroto's number one field journalist, Kevin Laibson, to take over as the editor. Cronin immediately upped the magazine's distribution by 25% and expanded coverage to the entire Northeastern Corridor, not to mention switching the cover and major feature pages to color, while Laibson worked with him to remain dedicated to the original goal of preserving and promoting indie and original music.

Under its new management, Origivation Magazine continues to provide a comprehensive and approachable guide to the best of all sides of the Philadelphia original music scene to an ever-growing audience. The magazine is published monthly.

Current artists on our roster include Bill Janovitz & Crown Victoria, Anne Heaton, Francine, Rachel Cantu and Merrie Amsterburg. We offer our artists national distribution through Redeye USA, electronic distribution on iTunes and eMusic, and other resources including production, artist development, marketing, international distribution, and licensing opportunities. Q Division also has 2 affiliated world-class 24-track recording studios where most of the label's releases are recorded. Our studios have also been home to such artists as PIXIES, Fountains of Wayne, and Aimee Mann.

We're always seeking new talent for our roster, with a focus on indie/alternative rock and singer-songwriters. We find many of our artists through live performances and word of mouth, but we are now hoping to find Sonicbids artists to add to our label. We have signed Northeast-based artists in the past, but we are open to adding bands from anywhere, provided they are working and tour regularly.

School Zone Tour produces high school concerts in the Orange County & Los Angeles area. They showcase the hottest emerging recording artists to raise funds for the host school's performing arts department. They also provide a highly effective marketing and promotional vehicle for the artists who perform.

Artists are placed in front of tens of thousands of teens on a regular basis thanks to large enrollments. Some schools offer up to 3,000 student audience members at once.

All submitted material must not contain explicit material or lyrics. These showcases are for teenagers 13-18 in schools, so no derogatory, racist or other explicit material will be accepted. School Zone Tour would ask all artists to make sure their image is appropriate for a school setting. They expect high energy music and a high energy performance. If you can play at a coffee house, they won't be able to use you.

While no compensation is provided, merchandise sales are allowed with the school's approval with artists keeping 100% of their sales.

Due to the way that scheduling is structured, artists located in the greater Los Angeles and its surrounding areas are best suited for the program. The Center for Arts in Natick (TCAN), an award-winning music venue in Natick, Massachusetts (17 miles east of Boston) is actively seeking musicians and performance artists for openings for Friday and Saturday nights. Concerts are held in our restored 1875 firehouse venue, seating 270-300. There are 8-10 slots available each month. Usually there are two 45 minutes sets or one 70-90 minute set. A local draw is not necessary to be booked, but is preferable.

TCAN bookings are 6-9 months in advance, with limited exceptions. Selected artists will be compensated for their performances. There is an in-house PA system and lights and an audio engineer is provided. Additional information about the facility, lights, sound and backline can be found on the TCAN website.

The Rutledge, located walking distance from downtown Nashville, TN, is seeking artists for showcases and live performance. This non-smoking venue has a capacity of 232, outdoor bar and grill, and capabilities for live streaming and 24 track live recording.

The venue is named after Rutledge Hill on which the building sits. It consists of split level seating with an unobstructed sight line, state of the art sound system including subwoofers built into a sand filled stage, sound absorbing floor and a multi faceted lighting system. It features a custom made copper topped bar surrounded by original 19th century brick walls creating the ultimate atmosphere.

Live music is presented 7 nights a week, with an average of three artists per show. Bands perform a minimum 30-45 minute long set, and songwriters perform for an average of 20 minutes. This Rutledge is currently booking local, regional, and national artists of all genres 2 months in advance.

Artists must be able to provide recommendations or names of local venues they have been in contact with and/or played. Having friends in the Nashville area is a huge plus. House PA, engineer, drum kit and bass rig available.

Bands get split from the door after $200 production costs, 25% off of food, and free well drinks. Tabs get better when sales get better. No artist pays out of pocket if no one shows up. Industry showcases are exceptions and have different standards in place.

The historic Lower East Side "169 Bar", located in New York City, NY, has been around for 80 years and is infamous for being a rough place. Beginning in the 1940's with the Merchant Marines, this venue was formerly nicknamed the "Bloody Bucket" for being a venue for gangs, drugs and thugs and having the most fights of any place in New York City. Located on the edge of Chinatown, the "169 Bar" is no longer the denizen of a variety of gangs, but now plays host to a variety of musical styles from some of the best local and international talent.

Constantly being nominated for best dive bar, it is now a very relaxed venue where the only menacing thing is their fish "Jeff", who can be seen on episode 9 of "Flight of the Conchords". Throughout the week, you will find an eclectic mix of music including acoustic performers, solo piano players playing their beautiful 1939 upright piano, R&B, soul, funk, folk, lounge, bluegrass, and even a little rock.

Artists are compensated with a percentage of the door cover based on following, which can be negotiated at time of booking. Artists who cannot draw at least 20 people will not be considered. Set lengths are generally 30 minutes but may be extended based on turnout.

169 Bar provides drums, bass and guitar amps, upright piano with pickups, and all necessary PA equipment with a house engineer. Due to volume concerns, drummers are urged to use bundles instead of sticks.
